Unilever - Seri Plast S.p.A. agreement: 74 million for the reconversion of the Pozzilli plant

Historic agreement between the Multinational Unilever and Seri Plast S.p.A. (a subsidiary of Seri Industrial S.p.A.) leader in the recycling of plastic materials.

The two players will set up a 50-50 NewCo, called P2P (Packaging to Polymer), as part of the conversion plan for the Pozzilli (IS) industrial site. The new site is expected to be one of the most advanced European facilities in the production of recycled plastic, as well as the only one in southern Italy with the capacity to recover mixed plastic material from post-consumer packaging. Unilever will be the first customer of the Joint Venture, the centre of the project which, through a development contract, is applying for national funding for the major investment project. The future plans to maintain employment levels on the part of the two parties are unaltered, which also suggest an increase in the workforce, all of which can be widely planned following the usual preliminary phase of trade union consultation.
